Escorts Sex Workers America would like to thank the women and men who attended Saturday’s conference. We received a warm welcome and met with much interest and support from many of the women in attendance, so much so that we ran out of copies of our policy paper, “The Rights of Escort Sex Workers in America.” It has become clear to us that American feminism is not united in supporting the Turn of the Red Escorts sex campaign. Many feminists across generations are ambivalent about or opposed to the introduction of laws that prohibit sex workers’ clients from having sex with women. We hope that policymakers and sex workers will begin to listen to these voices – and ours.
A disappointing decision
We are disappointed that “Uninvited Sex Partners” were allowed to have a booth at the conference without any real explanation. We were told this was because the conference was overcrowded and had health and safety issues. However, there was more than enough space for another booth; we did not hear of any other uninvited presenters, and if it is true that there were too many booths reserved, the question of why it was chosen as an exception remains unanswered. We noted that most of the stands were large enough for two people to stand behind them. If there were health and safety concerns about the number of people, some could have been reduced to one person so that each group could participate.
We would like to clarify that Escorts sex
Is not officially affiliated with and that its founder, Escorts sex, is not and has never been a member. However, those of us who are Escorts depend entirely on service. This helps to protect our health and safety, so, ironically, he is excluded from Escort sex for these reasons. If Escort Sex had any concerns about his participation in the conference, he could have raised them with us, his service users. The voices of Escorts sex workers should be heard on the issues that affect our lives.
